Happy Friday! Last year, I started a series where I (semi) regularly shared things that I was loving and overall obsessed with. There is no scientific method (or really any method to speak of) that I use to select the pieces that I highlight - just things I realy liked and used a lot in the past month. You can read all the 2023 editions here: vol. 1, vol. 2, vol. 3, vol. 4, & 5.
The original series was inspired by other women who I regularly turn to for recommendations and inspiration that also share their favorite things. My hope is that this inspires you, too! And is a fun way to regularly share in addition to my longer essays. This year, in the spirit of introducing a few organizational systems to organize some of the things I create, I am going to move to a monthly edition.
March was a busy month over here. We are starting to consistently get warmer weather which is so very welcome. The transition to spring is one of my most favorite times of the year, and my whole family is happy to be able to eat dinners outside and play in our yard on a regular basis without having to get all bundled up! I went on four trips this month, which is a lot for me — two for work, our family vacation to South Carolina, and a weekend in New York City with my husband to celebrate my birthday and also our last opportunity to get away just the two of us before the baby comes!
The things that got me through this month mostly revolved around clothes that I have been wearing on repeat, and are keeping me comfortable and feeling good. Plus, a few accessories and beauty products that I have been loving. I hope you enjoy!
1: Amazon Jumpsuit: I was influenced to try this jumpsuit after seeing it featured on @thegoodreview, and I returned two pricy maternity-specific options in favor of this. I'm wearing it constantly (I sized up to an L)— with the trusty denim jacket, with a sweater, with a sweatshirt or fleece over it for walks, and when it’s warm enough, I’ll wear it on its own! Truly so comfortable!
2: New Balance 574s: I added a new sneaker to my mix! When I originally tried them on I was a little turned off by how wide the toe is. My other pair of New Balance sneaks is the 996, which has a slightly more almond-shaped toe box, so the look is definitely different. But now, after a few wears and careful studying of many chic women wearing them, I am all-in. So much so that I’m considering ordering another color. First of all, the comfort cannot be beat — they carried me comfortably through two days in NYC where I walked 8+ miles 30 weeks pregnant and my feet were fine (they did not solve my other pregnancy-related aches and pains, but my feet were not the source of the problem!) I love the way they look with midi-length dresses that I have been reaching for daily, and I am wearing them with socks and leggings or other athleisure outfits. All over, they are such a staple!
3: Dieux Instant Angel: I have repurchased this multiple times and it’s my favorite moisturizer. Depending on the day, I use it during the daytime, or sometimes as a layer at night, but it’s truly so soothing, hydrating, and easy to apply. Love the products and ethos of Dieux, and I love hearing from their CEO, Charlotte Parlermino, on her favorite products, her takes/demystification of various beauty headlines, and behind-the-scenes of her business.
4: La Ligne Marin Cardigan: Basically my second skin at this point, my first La Ligne purchase has been all that I was hoping it would be and more! I have had a Marin sweater on my wishlist for many months now, and when they rolled out the cardigan version this spring I was so excited since it’s a little more practical while I am wildly pregnant! It is so soft, such high quality, and is elevating every outfit I wear. Not an insignificant purchase, but it’s probably the highest-quality sweater I have in my collection. I can’t wait to add my next La Ligne piece to my closet — I’m thinking about the Vivian dress (which, btw, totally works when pregnant, check it out below), and can’t wait to try the jeans!
5: Indie Lee iRecover Cream: This is a pregnancy must-have for me. It’s kind of like icy hot, but without the hot. I put it on my back, shoulders, and neck basically every night before bed. Sometimes earlier if I am feeling particularly achy. It is cooling and provides much-needed relief!
6: Gap Denim Jacket: In case you have somehow missed that I am obsessed with this jacket, then I clearly have room to talk about it a little more. I have been wearing this over my unitard, over leggings and t-shirts, and over dresses, truly, there are very few things in my closet that this does not work with. It’s not a maternity piece, but it’s maternity friendly and has been a great topper while I am pregnant. Gap is a great place to look to get great pieces that are well-made at a very fair price, and so I regularly shop there (don’t sleep on their jeans), but I discovered this particular piece via @bought.obsessed and am so glad that I did!
7: Uniqlo Shoulder Bag: I discovered this first via
(you should subscribe to her newsletter if you are not already subscribed!), and then continued to see the bag many places around the internet, and then finally bit the bullet prior to our trip to South Carolina. It is a perfect combination of form and function! I have found myself using it constantly - it holds more than you would think, and is comfortable to wear!8: Ribber Maternity Romper: I am basically on a mission to wear anything but pants for the rest of my pregnancy, so, enter this maternity shorts romper. Great to work out in, go on walks in, and bop around in on the weekends — basically anytime I would wear leggings and the weather is warm enough, this is what I’m reaching for!
Thank you so much for reading!
