Your essay about being a better mom when you like what you’re wearing is what really made me want to start my own substack, because I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with that sentiment and I get myself ready before my two young kids every single day and I do not shy away from wearing real clothes around them. The worst thing that can happen is you need to get something dry cleaned! Anyways, it’s so nice to hear another mom saying this and you always look amazing. I follow you on Instagram too, I’m such a fan girl of yours 😍 Anywho… love the corduroy Marcelles!!! And everything.

I'm saving your list of reasons for those mornings when I'm on a struggle bus. Similar to a workout, I *never* regret putting myself together and it seriously does set the tone. Loved reading this!

Love this!! Your tip for wearing one item you’ve work recently has helped me immensely lately to actually get dressed when it’s been so cold and wintery and I haven’t wanted to change out of my cozy sweats! The rolo chain is exactly what I have been looking for for a while — what length is yours? Thanks!!

Love this! I have 3 littles under the age of 4 and getting dressed everyday (almost) literally changes the course of my day. I interact differently with the world when I feel good about myself/what I'm wearing.

Also really love your daily outfits with notes on what you did that day - more please :)

I am very cosigned on this strategy. I learned during the pandemic, after the initial WEEEEEEEEE feelings of working from home started to wear off, that getting dressed and putting on my make-up, and then taking it all off and slipping on lounge wear after, were important bookends of my day. I've since returned to the office in a hybrid format, and on my WFH days, you bet I'm wearing jeans and mascara and probably perfume, and anything else I'd usually wear in the office.

Right there with you!!! The pandemic was also a major wake up call for me - after the initial allure of matching lounge outfits wore off, I realized that was not going to leave me feeling my best in the long term! So glad this resonated with you, Jen!!
