The chat function on Substack has essentially taken the place of social media for me because I find it scratches the itch for community without feeling like I’m doom scrolling. It gives me inspiration without any of the emotional hangover that other outlets often give me.

The chat function has renewed my faith in social media - and gives me such hope for the fashion essay collection I am pitching. We all love fashion and recognize how important it is to us feeling great - and in some cases what to wear to get us through the day. Oh my gosh - first I love the chat features! Agree they have been fantastic and super fun. Engaging in a way that Instagram hadn't been and it is like I found my circle of like minded people. Best tips ever. Second, I'm so flattered with the shoutout. So glad you are enjoying. Thank you. Third, I'm wearing the Donni pants now! They arrived Wednesday (I bought navy and black) and loving them. Wore one pair yesterday and the other today. I'm 5ft 2in and they are long on me but don't drag with shoes. Still debating if I want to shorten them to a cute crop length. Might want the same pair at different lengths. Perfect for going from the office, to the sports field to cheer on my kids to relaxing at home all in one day.

I share so many of your sentiments, especially when it comes to having insecurities around talking/writing about style, and I agree that the Substack community fosters a space to participate in the conversation without feeling judged.
