I love these questions! I feel like finding my post partum style vibe has been a lot of “what is the life that I’m dressing for/shopping for”…I love the idea of making 3 outfits with what you have!!
So much of what you’ve written here is incredible, and reminds me of the post I wrote back in January about intuitive style. It was sort of a way to hold myself accountable for actually wearing my clothes, and listening to my gut when it comes to what resonates for me vs not. You have so many great learnings and ideas here. Just wow!! Loved every moment - and thank you for the shout out!!
The intro about screenshots got me smiling (I do this too!)
I go through these moments as well - I have a closet of clothes I love, but haven’t worn as much as I wanted to. I am also 1.5 months postpartum, so I will give myself time :)
I realized I don’t take as much photos of myself wearing my clothes, so I should do that more often! Will be a good reminder to see how often I wear (or not wear! 🤔 hmmm) my clothes.
I cannot recommend taking pictures enough - it helps remember outfits, it helps hone in on what you like and done like, figure out what you wear a ton (and what you never wear!) And of course, give yourself grace!! You’re in the early days of pp!! It’s a hard time to get dressed but it will get easier! Thank you for reading!!
found myself actually nodding the whole way along. So much goodness to digest, so many screenshots to go through, so much outfit repeating to be had! loved it and thanks for the mention xx
I almost spit out my coffee! To be included in that list of people who inspire your style is such an honor, THANK YOU. It’s so mutual (you know this).
I’m all for tips on taking a breath before hitting checkout on a wild impulse buy. Your checklist is fantastic. It’s true: loving something isn’t enough. You have to ask yourself if you’ll actually wear it, wear it often, and wear it with many things. This was so helpful!
I think I’m getting closer to that personal sweet spot!!
Lastly, you are spot on. My favorite follows on social media are the ones who rewear what they have. Who stretch their wardrobes to flex their versatility. That’s the goal.
I felt seen from the opening paragraph; 1,000 screenshots? Hi, it me!! Also, I would LOVE to see what you are screenshotting, esp for interiors since my eye for that stuff isn’t as keen. What really blew my mind, though, was “take the full return window!” Why do I try to make a decision within 30 seconds of putting something on? What’s with that? I am going to take your advice PRONTO.
PS- that Faithfull top has haunted me but-sadly- doesn’t fit my lifestyle at all. I would love to see you in it and styling/restyling it!
Thank you for reading, Kelly!!! Sharing interior inspo is on my list for someday - I am full of ideas but execution is hard for me 🤣. I am coming home from a trip to that faithful set and will be reporting back!!!
what a gem this newsletter is, and thank you for the shout out! I totally agree with using imagery to home in on your personal style/taste/aesthetic. Simply *looking* is one of the best (and easiest!) ways to determine what you’re drawn to. But the secret sauce is your second point: delete! If you love it but it doesn’t fit (literally, figuratively) let it go. So good!
LOVE this! I sort of “rebuilt” my wardrobe this past year after having my 3rd baby and one of my goals is to actually have a closet full of clothes I *wear* and want to
I feel like this post was literally written for me, because this is my DREAM content that really gets me excited! This is the stuff!!!! The meat! The potatoes! Your checklist is GREAT!
Sidenote: I was laughing during the opening paragraph at your use of the word “screenshot” because over the weekend my son was jumping into the pool and he yelled over to me “MOM! TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF THIS!” as he did a little cannonball. Where did he learn that?!?! Hahahha!
You had me at: “but I also want a closet of clothes that are lived in”. That’s exactly my motto. I even have systems in my closet to make sure I get to wear everything 🙌🏻😇
You say none of this is rocket science, but is it not rocket science??? I learned so much, and I’m snagging that checklist. This was such a timely read as I’ve been feeling really disconnected from my closet during this postpartum season. I told myself I’d make no drastic moves until things “normalize” but have the urge to reorganize/rebuild…something I should also consider doing with my 1000000 photos and screen shots, too!!! Thank you for this, and thanks for the shout. You made my day over here. ❤️🫶🏼

Yes! You have to bring it into reality! Which isn’t always the most fun, but it will lead to more satisfaction in the long run!!
SUCH a helpful post and thank you for the shoutout Christina - that is truly the best compliment! x
Thank you for reading!!

Intuition plays a huge part, I couldn’t agree more!! You have to find a way to let it speak!! Thank you so much for reading — I love your work!!

Thank you for reading, Traci! I feel like we are very aligned in the idea that getting dressed for anything is worth it!
💯💯💯

Yes!! There has to be both a father and an edit phase to the process!!! Thank you for reading!!

It takes a long time and it works but man does it feel so good!!!
Love this and it has really changed my shopping habits! No longer only searching for trends but classics that will go far.
Yes! Longevity and not just “is it good for right now” is key!!!

That diagram is genius. No notes and thank you for including me X
