My number one pro body affirming move: if I have a favorite item of clothing from a few years ago that I loved and always feel great in and no longer fits, I check Vinted or TheRealReal for the beloved thing in the new size. It took very little debate, I got it within a week, and the used pair for $50 was probably in better shape than the pair I’d had from new and paid 250 for. I felt great. Don’t underestimate clothes that fit!! I don’t actually need a new look or a new identity, I like my style, I just needed a different size and thinking of it that way and dealing with it in a few clicks allows me to show up in a loving way for my body instead of scrutinizing clothes in dressing rooms. One reason this is tricky for me is because I was raised not to spend much money on clothing or personal care! So reordering a tried-and-true is also an easier call.

Even though I’m not postpartum, I found this so helpful. I’m in a weird period of mid thirties where my body is changing and I’m trying to make peace with that, but it’s hard, and this piece was so helpful in giving me ways to shift my mindset and feel good in my clothes. Thank you!!

Extremely fun and clever. I love how you took an old-school magazine layout and made it so witty. You ladies are awesome!! I’m 8 years post partum and STILL figuring things out 🫠

Love this! I have been jokingly describing it as a long phase of "cartoon character" dressing-wearing one pair of new jeans, a classic T, and sneakers most every day. Add on a few different cardigans and that took me through most of my life occasions this fall & winter! (I WFH, really cuts down on the range of outfits needed)

This post also applies to those of us in perimenopause! I have three kids and it feels like the post partum period all over again trying to figure out my style + how to feel comfortable with my changing body.

Six months postpartum with third baby and feel all of this so much! I see a huge shift in my mental health when I get dressed (even if I can't find the time to do my hair!). Thank you for this - going to reshare!

I always remind myself @luckyandi in this season (I’m 5 months postpartum) that you can’t check all the boxes right now - if you get a great outfit on you feel good but no hair done throw on a hat, put your hair up in a claw clip and feel good about what you DID accomplish!
