Some of my own getting dressed, clothes, personal style & closet goals for this year, my reasons for starting 2025 with a no-buy month (again), and how it's going so far
I'm still so impressed you can commit to a whole month. I love the idea but find it hard to hold back especially this time of year with so many deals happening and that feeling of getting what you actually wanted for Christmas!
It is hard with the sales!! I have some open browser tabs on my phone, but I usually find if I just open them up, look at them, and leave them there, open, the burning need for the item has settled by the time I ever come back to it!
I’m doing no buy Q1! I’ve realized I do like more pants than the ones I typically gravitate to, but there are a lot of sweaters I own that I just don’t love anymore and probably need to purge!
You're amazing! I have actually been thinking I could probably do a full Q1 (my bday is in March so I would need to design some exceptions around that!) It feels really good to notice what you actually need (or want!) so when you eventually do go looking for it, you know it's going to make your closet that much better!
I'm not necessarily doing no buy, but I am forcing myself to shop my closet more. I found myself only wearing a few items, yet my closet is stuffed. Especially coming back to work from mat leave where I wore the same leggings everyday. One thing that helped was getting different hangers (the kind with clips) that forced me to hang all of my pants and skirts instead of layering them on a multi-layered hanger. Now I can see everything and put together outfits. I am also trying to wear something different everyday. I am pleasantly surprised at the outfits I have put together
