2023 Holiday Gift Guide Part 3
Gifts for new moms or moms to be, and gifts for our most fashionable friends!
Hello and welcome to Part 3 of my 2023 Holiday Gift Guides.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and you haven’t been too overwhelmed by all the sales this week. My Inbox is so clogged with promotional emails, I’m not sure this is the best time to send this one out, but we’ll give it a try!
As I mentioned in Part 1, I am a gift guide enthusiast. They are one of my favorite things to read, browse, shop from, and critique. Gift-giving is one of my love languages, and I take great joy in selecting gifts for people I love.
This year, I am offering my take on gift-giving inspiration for the people who play important roles in our lives and whom we love very much.
Part 1 included:
Gifts for the literary genius, book-lover, or aspiring writer in your life
AND
Gifts for the fun-finder and group organizer in your life, who always rallies the troops to do something fun, and is always up to hang out
Part 2 included:
Gifts for your most loyal friend, who is a little bit quirky, and loves to take up a new hobby
Gifts for the introverted homebody / cozy - lover who throws a great intimate dinner party & mixes a mean drink
Today, we have:
Gifts for the new or expecting mom (or parent) who could use a reminder that they are doing a great job
Gifts for your most fashionable friend, who has the most impeccable sense of style, a love for all things beauty, and is always authentically themselves
Okay, let’s dive in!
Gift Guide #5 - Gifts for the new or expecting mom (or parent) who could use a reminder that they are doing a great job
1: Subscription to or copy of InKind Magazine - If you haven’t heard of InKind Magazine, it’s a beautiful biannual print magazine that focuses on motherhood, careers, personal style and more. Two fabulous women, Leah Melby Clinton & Hannah Weil McKinley, created the magazine, and it is a TREASURE. I am so incredibly inspired by both of them - especially that they took something that they loved to do when they were kids (same, I used to LOVE to create a magazine!!) and turned it into a product with an incredible community of contributors and fans.
2: Lake PJs: These truly are the greatest PJs. Especially when you are in the early postpartum days, having “dressy PJs” really does make a difference!
3: Eucalyptus Shower Discs - A friend gave these to me and they are AMAZING. You put them on the floor of your shower and it creates a spa-like experience in there. They are both energizing and calming.
4: Sleep Crown - Last year I set multiple alarms on my phone to snatch a Sleep Crown pillow for my husband as a Christmas gift. Since then, I have claimed the sleep crown for myself. It is AMAZING. And, it turns out, the perfect pillow to put over your head and around your ears and just dull teensy baby noises so they don’t keep you up at night, but you can still hear a true cry! Also great for blocking out lights during daytime naps, or going to bed when the sun is up! It restocks on 11/27 at 11AM CST, so set your alarm!
5: Indie Lee iRecover Gel - I am addicted to this stuff, it’s like an icy hot cream without the hot. Soothes any and all aches and pain from pregnancy, sore muscles, a headache, you name it! And the smell is so relaxing!
6: Missoma Curly Initial Pendant - Okay, so I know initial pendants are a dime a dozen, but I love how whimsical this one is! You could pick her first or last initial, or the initial of a child.
7: Baseball Cap - A great outfit finisher!
8: Film Camera - Has your gift recipient mentioned an interest in taking more photos, or trying to shoot film? A fun way to dip their toes into it!
9: Botox Ornament - If your gift recipient celebrates Christmas/decorates a tree, I stand by ornaments as a fantastic gift. Ever since I’ve had my own tree, I never felt like I had enough ornaments, and I love the tradition of pulling out your ornaments when you decorate your tree and remembering the story behind the ornament. Bonus if they are a little cheeky. This one is sure to make her laugh.
10: Tata Harper Skin Mask - this is an amazing face mask - your face looks bright, fresh, plump, glowy & like you had a full night of sleep after it. (If you are shopping during Cyber Week, Tata Harper website is offering 25% off when you spend over $100 - one for you and one for your recipient!)
11: Kule Modern Tee - Best striped shirt to keep her comfortable and feeling put together
12: Crown Affair Hair Clips & Silk Scrunchies - A little something that she might not buy for herself, but will actually use every single day!
13: Linen Photo Album - Nice looking photo albums are hard to come by, and I feel like so many people do digital ones, but there is something I love about an album, and that you can always slip a print into it. It’s special! For an extra personal touch, add a photo or two!
14: A visit to her house and offer to make a meal, or hang out with her kids, or just have a glass of wine with her and catch up!
Gift Guide #6: Gifts for your most fashionable friend, who has the most impeccable sense of style, a love for all things beauty, and is always authentically themselves
1: Soft Services Buffing Bar - This comes highly recommended by so many people - the perfect exfoliant
2: 100 Ways to Change Your Life by Liz Moody - Okay, you can probably only give this to someone who will understand that it’s given in a positive way- for someone who is interested in implementable tips from all different kinds of experts. I recently discovered Liz Moody and am Completely obsessed. This book is packed with practical, implementable advice to live your very best life!
3: Sparkly Handbag - The perfect accessory for a night out, or to add a little glam to any outfit!
4: Sezane Loris Sweater - A chic sewater to wear to every occasion all winter long
5: Bling Phone Case - The most fun phone case!
6: Cashmere Gloves - No one every buys themselves nice gloves, but we all need to wear them everyday all winter long! I love this color!
7: Mignonne Gavigan Hoop Earrings - These earrings are so beautiful and fun!
8: Merit Great Skin Serum - This makes your skin GLOW, and is the perfect base for any makeup.
9: Clarins Cryo Face Mask - The most incredible face mask that plumps and refreshes your skin, while also feeling like you just used an ice roller.
10: Stone Hoop Earrings - Such a chic earring for under $50!
11: Wear it Well by Alison Bornstein - The perfect book for someone
12: Ossa New York Phone Wristlet - Another really fun phone accessory - so many different bracelets to choose from!
13: Glossier You - The ultimate personal fragrance that is formulated to be a personal skin enhancer
That’s it for today. Hope this guide inspires you and helps you think of someone you are shopping for this season! Next week, I have one last gift guide launching, which will be Gifts for ladies who lunch (or, for those of us, like me, aspire to a life of leisure & lunching) - which will be mostly my unhinged wishlist, plus gifts for those of use who aspired to have all the finer things in life.
Hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving and are enjoying the end of the holiday weekend.
